Burglars Hit Same Hyde Park Block 4 Times, Police Say

CHICAGO — Burglars have targeted homes in the same Hyde Park block at least four times in October, according to police.

At least four homes in the 5400 block of South Woodlawn Avenue have been burglarized since Oct. 15, police said in a community alert Saturday.

In the incidents, one or more burglars break into the homes before stealing property, police said. In one incident, three burglars entered an apartment and hit a person in the face before taking their property, according to police.

The burglaries happened at:

• 12:06 a.m. on Oct. 15

• Between 10:45 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 17

• Between 4:45 p.m. and 7:15 a.m. between Oct. 22 and Monday

• Between 1:50 p.m. and 2:05 p.m. on Monday

Police have described the three burglars in the one incident as two black men and a black woman.

The woman is believed to be aged 20 to 25 years and standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 and weighing between 120 and 140 pounds, police said. The men are believed to be aged 20 to 25 years, standing 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11 and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds, according to police.
