WICKER PARK — A man was arrested for the fourth time in less than 18 months near his Wicker Park home after the victim of an armed robbery attempt identified him as the person who'd tried to rob him, police said.

Andrew Fisher, 27, of the 1500 block of North Leavitt Street, was arrested at 2 p.m. last Saturday on the same block where he resides, according to the Chicago Police Office of News Affairs.

Fisher was arrested after being identified as the person who approached a 46-year-old man and announced a robbery while implying he had a handgun, police said.

Fisher was charged with one felony count of attempted robbery/aggravated robbery and for indicating he was armed with a firearm, police said. The charges against him did not include gun possession charges.

No further information was available from police.

The robbery occurred in the 2100 block of West North Avenue, around the corner from where Fisher lives, police records show.

Records show Fisher is currently in Cook County jail on a $50,000 bond.

Prior to last week's arrest, Fisher had been arrested on March 16, 2016 in the 4000 block of West Fullerton Avenue and charged with possession of PCP and cannabis, as well as driving on a suspended license with no insurance.

On Dec. 16, 2015, Fisher was arrested in the 3400 block of North Harlem Avenue for driving under the influence of drugs (DUI), possession of cannabis, and for driving without insurance. He was released the following day after posting a $3,000 bond.

On May 25, 2015, Fisher was arrested in the 2400 block of West Belmont Avenue after violating an order of protection.

The Chicago Police Dept. adult arrest database only goes back to Jan. 1, 2014, however, Fisher's criminal history also appears to include a 2013 arrest, when as a 23-year-old he was charged with planning to deal drugs to students at New Trier High School in Wilmette, according to reports.

Wilmette police told Patch.com that Fisher, of Chicago, had agreed to sell MDMA, also known as ecstasy, and cannabis to an undercover officer. The mugshot of Fisher in the Patch.com report matches the four mugshots of Fisher in Chicago police records.

"Wilmette detectives conducted an investigation on a tip that [Fisher] was selling drugs to local juveniles," Wilmette Police Chief Brian King said in 2013. "Andrew Fisher came off the 4th and Linden 'el' train to conduct a drug transaction and was subsequently arrested."
