CHICAGO — Shootings left one person dead and five wounded on Tuesday.

At 5:06 p.m. Tuesday, a Chicago Police SWAT team went to a home in West Town where shots had been fired. The team was there for five hours before getting into the home, where officers found one person who had been shot to death and another who had killed himself in an apparent murder-suicide.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 11:51 p.m. Tuesday, a 22-year-old man was shot in East Side, police said. The man was driving in the 10000 block of South Avenue L when a man in a silver SUV pulled alongside him and fired shots.

The victim was hit in his back and took himself to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 7:35 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was shot in Grand Crossing, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The boy was walking in an alley in the 6500 block of South King Drive when someone shot at him.

The boy was hit in his leg and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was in good condition, Lemmon said.

• At 7:30 p.m., a 26-year-old woman was shot in Washington Park, Lemmon said. The woman was a passenger in a car driving in the 100 block of East 56th Street when someone outside the car fired shots.

The woman was hit in her thigh and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where her condition was not available but she was listed as "stable," Lemmon said.

The woman was not the intended target, police sources said.

• At 7 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot while outside in Back of the Yards.

• At 2:50 p.m., a 36-year-old man was shot in Washington Heights, Lemmon said. The man was sitting in a car in the 1100 block of West 98th Street when two men pulled up and fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his left shoulder and leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, Lemmon said.

No one was in custody.
