CHICAGO — A man tried to kidnap a 9-year-old girl in Austin, police said.
At 7:55 a.m. Oct. 19, the girl got off the CTA Green Line and was walking near West Lake Street and North Cicero Avenue, according to a Chicago Police community alert. As she was walking, a man in a white car rolled down his window and told the girl to get into the vehicle.
The girl ran away and 911 was called, police said. The man who tried to lure her drove away.
The man was described as 30 to 40 years old, black, with a goatee, black beard and bald head. He was wearing a black shirt and in a newer-model, four-door sedan, police said.
