WICKER PARK — Commuters headed to the Damen Blue Line L station early Friday — and folks walking their dogs — reported shards of glass all over the sidewalk from three smashed-in windows at a popular bar underneath the elevated train tracks in Wicker Park.
A worker who was assessing the damage to the three windows at Blue Line Lounge and Grill, 1548 N. Damen Ace., declined to comment.
Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman, said that "an establishment on the 1500 block of Damen reported that when they arrived at work they discovered damage to three windows."
Lemmon said the damage occurred between 1 and 8 a.m. on Friday.
What caused the damage is unknown and Area North detectives are investigating, Lemmon said.
