About 3:15 a.m., officials responded to a report of a fire in a factory yard near 25th Street and Rockwell Avenue. Two firefighters were injured due to heat exhaustion, according to various media reports.
More than 100 firefighters, 25 engines and five ambulances were eventually called to the blaze, which destroyed a pallet shop, according to the Sun-Times.
The fire began at the pallet shop before spreading to a nearby muffler business. Officials were still investigating how it started.
