CHICAGO — A 21-year-old woman was shot to death in Riverdale on Tuesday night, police said.

At 7:25 p.m., the woman was in an argument with someone she knew in the 300 block of East 130th Street when the person took out a gun and fired shots, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman was hit in her chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, Amezaga said.

She has been identified as Marilyn Duffie, who lived on the same block where she was killed, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. She was pronounced dead at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday, the medical examiner said.

Someone was in custody and charges were pending, Amezaga said.

The shooting was domestic-related, police said.
