West Side Carjackings Trigger Police Warning

CHICAGO — Three separate carjacking incidents were reported in the Austin and West Garfield Park neighborhoods during a single week at the end of last month, according to a Sunday police alert.

In each case, more than one person pulled someone out of their car and drove away in it, police said. In one incident, the carjackers used a white car, "possibly a Dodge Charger."

The incidents were reported at the following times and locations:

• 8:50 p.m. on Sept. 25 in the 100 block of South Hamlin Boulevard

• 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 30 in the 700 block of South Cicero Avenue

• 10:20 a.m. on Sept. 30 in the 700 block of South Kenneth Avenue.

Police described the suspects as three black men between the ages of 20 and 25.
