CHICAGO — Two men were shot, one fatally, in Englewood on Monday afternoon, police said.
At 3:36 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 7000 block of South Sangamon Street, where they found the men with gunshot wounds inside a car, according to Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.
Maurice Hilliard, 25, was shot in his neck and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Quaid said. Hilliardm of the 4700 block of South Sangamon Street, was pronounced dead at 6:01 p.m., and an autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.
The other man, 20, was shot in his arm and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition, Quaid said.
No one was in custody for the shooting, Quaid said.
