CHICAGO — Chicago Public Schools officials placed three schools on its "warning list" for underperforming charter schools, according to a Thursday announcement.

The Rudy Lozano Leadership Academy, 2570 S. Blue Island Ave., was the only school to appear on the list two years in a row, putting it in direct risk of being closed, officials said.

Although no decision has yet been made on the campus, run by the Instituto network of charter schools, district officials are "closely evaluating the school’s performance record and will make a recommendation to the Board of Education" regarding its future, the announcement read.

ACE Tech Charter High School, 5410 S. State St., and North Lawndale College Prep's Collins campus, 1313 S. Sacramento Dr., were also included on the list.

The "charter warning list" comprised 10 schools during the 2015-16 school year, compared to just three schools this year, officials said.
