CHICAGO — The city will get more rain later this week.
It might be fall, but temperatures will hit the 70s Wednesday and Thursday, said AccuWeather meteorologist Tom Kines. That's about 3½ degrees hotter than usual, and the warm temperatures are more in line with what the city usually sees at the beginning of September than the start of October, he said.
It's warmer than it should should be at this time of year, Kines said.

The weird part: It's not the days that are particularly warm — it's the nights, Kines said. The city's low temperatures during the night have only dropped to the mid-50s, while they're usually in the mid-40s by this time of year.
Things will get chillier by Friday, when a high in the mid-60s is expected, Kines said. The weekend is also expected to be colder.
There's also a storm expected for Thursday or Friday, and even Wednesday might see some showers, Kines said. The showers shouldn't be particularly bad, Kines said, and most of Wednesday should be dry.
