Little Village Shooting Seriously Wounds Man, 27, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Little Village left a 27-year-old man seriously wounded on Saturday morning, police said.

At 5 a.m., the man was driving in the 2400 block of South California Avenue when he heard "numerous" gunshots, police said.

The man realized he had been shot in his chest and he drove himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in serious condition, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

No one was in custody.
