CHICAGO — A shooting in Chatham left Jean Vital, 35, dead early Saturday, police said.
At 12:56 a.m., Vital was in the 7900 block of South Champlain when he was shot in his buttocks, police said. Vital was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
The man was later pronounced dead, police said. An autopsy showed he died of a gunshot wound in his buttocks in a homicide, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.
No one was in custody.
