CHICAGO — A man and woman have been charged in an Eisenhower Expy. shooting over the weekend, according to Illinois State Police.
At 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Norris A. Stevenson and Joenglish L. Lewis were on the Harlem Avenue ramp onto the westbound Eisenhower Expy. when they shot at a car or pedestrian, Illinois State Police said in a press release Thursday.
Nobody was injured in the shooting, state police said.
An investigation led state police to Stevenson, 26, and Lewis, 30. Both have been charged with one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm, state police said.
Stevenson and Lewis are being held at Cook County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
The charges come as shootings on Chicago's expressway climb. Two people were shot dead and a woman was wounded in two shootings on the Eisenhower early Thursday.
The second shooting was the 41st shooting on a Chicago area expressway since Jan. 1. There were 39 similar shootings in all of 2015.
