NEAR WEST SIDE — A 33-year-old man died Thursday, about a month after being shot near the United Center on the Near West Side, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

At 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 27, Marvin Keyes was leaving a home in the 2000 block of West Maypole Avenue when a man shot at him before driving away in a silver car, police said at the time.

Keyes, of the 3600 block of West Douglas Boulevard, was brought to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition after being shot in his head, right arm and both leg, police said.

He was pronounced dead at 7:07 p.m. Thursday.
