SOUTH CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man died after being shot in South Chicago last month, officials said.
The man was wounded in a shooting at 10:44 p.m. on Aug. 13 in the 8600 block of South Essex Avenue, police said.
He was shot in the head and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
The man, identified as Derrick Canady, of the 8000 block of South Essex Avenue, was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody for the shooting, police said.
