RAVENSWOOD — If you love art, the Ravenswood ArtWalk is for you. If you don't love art, the Ravenswood ArtWalk is for you, too.

Stroll the nearly mile-long "tour of arts and industry" route and you're bound to run into something that grabs your attention, from gallery exhibits to live music to sneak peeks inside buildings normally closed to the public.

The annual free event, now in its 15th year, is set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, stretching along Ravenswood Avenue from Irving Park Road to Leland Avenue (see map below or click here).

Among the highlights:

• The work of 300 artists will be on display at nearly 30 venues located up and down Ravenswood — everything from photography to painting, jewelry to ceramics.

• Enjoy a rare glimpse inside the Notebaert Nature Museum warehouse, 4001 N. Ravenswood Ave., where the museum stores hundreds of thousands of specimens in its collection. Likewise, the Century Mallet Instrument Service will open its doors in the historic Deagan Building, 1770 W. Berteau Ave., for a look at all manner of percussive instruments.

• Big Teeth Productions' 60-Second Film Festival features short films inspired by a famous work of art. Stop by the Manz Building, 4043 N. Ravenswood Ave., to view the entire 10-minute "festival" and vote for your favorite film.

• Catch one of 20 live music acts performing over the course of the two-day event. Stages will be set up at Ravenswood and Berteau, and Ravenswood and Belle Plaine.

• The outdoor RAW Street Fest includes more than 50 exhibitors, Begyle Brewing's craft beer garden, children's activities, food trucks and music. Though the rest of the Ravenswood ArtWalk is free, admission to the street fest is a suggested donation of $5.
