Austin Shooting Leaves Boy Wounded, Police Say

AUSTIN — An Austin shooting left a boy wounded on Sunday, police said.

At 11:35 a.m., a 15-year-old boy was in an alley in the 5200 block of West LeMoyne Street when someone emerged from a car and shot him, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The boy, who shot three times in his right hip, was taken to Loyola Medical Center. He condition wasn't known, but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The boy is a documented gang member, police said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, police said.
