Humboldt Park, Logan Square Shootings Wound 6 People, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in Humboldt Park and Logan Square have left a 10-year-old girl and five men wounded since Thursday, police said.

• At 2:30 a.m. Friday, a 19-year-old man was shot in Logan Square, police said. The man was walking outside in the 3300 block of West Schubert Avenue when two men walked up to him and one of them pulled out a gun and fired shots.

The man was hit in his back and was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• At 11:35 p.m. Thursday, an 18-year-old man was shot in Humboldt Park, police said. The man was in the 2600 block of West Hirsch when he was shot in his shoulder and shoulder blade.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. No further information was immediately available.

• At 1 p.m., a man, whose age wasn't immediately known, was walking in the 3500 block of West Palmer Street when an SUV drove by and someone inside opened fire, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He was struck in the arm and was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in unknown condition, Sweeney said.

• At 12:40 p.m., a 10-year-old girl and two men were shot in West Humboldt Park.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
