Buckingham Fountain Shooting Wounds Man, 22, After Argument, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man was shot near Buckingham Fountain after an argument Wednesday night, police said.

At 9:44 p.m., the man was standing by the fountain in the 500 block of South Columbus Drive when he got into an argument with a group of men who had alighted a party bus, police said. One of the men took out a gun and fired a shot at the man.

The man was hit in his thigh and was taken to Northwestern Hospital in fair condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
