SOUTH LOOP — Police have identified a "person of interest" following the fatal shooting of a man Sunday morning in a South Loop alley.
Officers said they responded to a call of shots fired at 10 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of South Michigan Avenue, according to Frank Giancamilli, a Chicago Police spokesman. Police said the shooting occurred during an apparent argument.
Officers found the man, whose age was not immediately available, unconscious with a gunshot wound in his head, Giancamilli said. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.
Neighbors reported hearing men arguing in the alley before the shooting, Giancamilli said.
Police said Monday afternoon they are simply talking to the "person of interest" and have not yet made any arrests. An investigation is still underway.
