Hyde Park Shooting Wounds Man, 23, After Argument, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Hyde Park left a 23-year-old man wounded on Friday afternoon, police said.

At 1:47 p.m., the man was in a car in the 1500 block of East Midway Plaisance when he got out of his car and got into an argument with another man, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man took out a gun and fired shots, hitting the victim in his right leg, Lemmon said.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital and his condition was listed as "good" by police.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

No one was in custody.
