CHICAGO LAWN — Three people were shot in Chicago Lawn Thursday afternoon, police said.

The shooting occurred around 4:55 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Maplewood Avenue, according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.

A 49-year-old woman was brought to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound in her leg, Sweeney said.

An 18-year-old man was brought to Holy Cross Hospital after being shot in his leg, Sweeney said.

Police could not provide their conditions but said they were both "stable."

A third person was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center after being shot, Sweeney said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.
