CHICAGO — A shooting Wednesday night in Chatham left a 20-year-old man wounded, police said.

At 7:05 p.m., the man was standing on the street at 79th Street and King Drive when two cars drove by and someone in one of the cars fired shots, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in the stomach, arm, leg and buttocks and was taken to Northwestern Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Amezaga said.

The man was a gang member, police said.

No one was in custody.
