South Chicago Robbers Targeting People Sitting In Cars, Police Say

CHICAGO — Robbers in South Chicago are targeting people sitting in their cars, police said.

During two incidents, a pair of thieves have walked up to people seated in cars, reached inside the cars and stolen from the victims, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

The robberies occurred:

• 10:40 p.m. July 20 in the 2900 block of East 89th Street

• 7:10 a.m. Aug. 3 in the 9000 block of South Muskegon Avenue

The robbers were described as black men or boys who were 14-22 years old, police said. One was described as having dreadlocks, being 5 feet tall and weighing 110 pounds. The other was described as being bald, 5-foot-9 and weighing 130 pounds.
