Burglar Targeting Apartment Buildings in East Beverly, Police Say

BEVERLY — Six apartments have been burglarized in East Beverly recently, according to a community alert issued by the Chicago Police Department.

The burglar enters the apartments using a pry tool on the front door to steal items from inside, police said.

The burglaries occurred in police beat 2212 in the Morgan Park District on:

• July 11 in the 10300 block of South Hale Avenue

• July 26 in the 10600 block of South Walden Parkway

• July 27 in the 10400 block of South Walden Parkway

• July 30 in the 1800 block of West 104th Street

• Two apartments on Aug. 6 in the 1800 block of West 105th Street

Police recommend that apartment building residents don't "buzz in" strangers or open the door for them, and call 911 immediately to provide a detailed description of any suspicious people or vehicles in the area.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call detectives at 312-747-8273.
