Albany Park, North Park, Irving Park Robberies Spur Police Warning

CHICAGO — A string of robberies has been reported in the Albany Park, North Park and Irving Park neighborhoods in the past two weeks, according to a Chicago Police alert issued Monday.

In each case, one or more armed men walked into a business and demanded cash from the register, police said.

The robberies were reported at the following times and locations:

• 3:05 p.m. on Aug. 2 in the 5000 block of West Armitage Avenue

• 11:55 a.m. on Aug. 5 in the 3700 block of North Kimball Avenue

• 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 10 in the 3300 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue

Police described one suspect as a black man in his late 40s, about 6 feet tall and weighing around 180 pounds.

The other suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing about 220 pounds.
