CHICAGO — Police are asking Far North Side residents to be on the lookout after a string of armed robberies in the area.
At least three people have been robbed at gunpoint in the area since July 30, police said in a community alert.
In the robberies, the victims were walking down the sidewalk when two men walked up from behind and took out a handgun before demanding their property, police said.
The incidents happened in:
• Ravenswood in the the 4700 block of North Campbell Avenue at 4:45 a.m. on Aug. 8
• North Center in the 3800 block of North Western Avenue at 2:35 a.m. on Aug. 3
• Lakeview in the 1600 block of West Roscoe Street at 4:20 a.m. on July 30
The robbers are described as two black men aged 17 to 25 years, according to police. One of the men standing between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet and weighs between 140 and 170 pounds with a medium complexion, police said.
The other robber is described as standing 6-foot-one and weighing about 170 pounds with a medium complexion.
