$1 Oysters, Garden Walk, Pub Crawl: Weekend Fun in the Wicker Park Area

WICKER PARK — The weekend weather is projected to be gorgeous — sunny, breezy and not too hot, experts say.

Here are a few ideas for fun things to do in the Wicker Park, Bucktown and West Town neighborhoods.

Celebrate National Oyster Day. Chop Shop is offering $1 oyster hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, while supplies last, plus happy hour deals and $5 slushies from 4 to 6 p.m., at 2033 W. North Ave. And Noble Square's Frontier host an "Oyster Rosé Patio Soiree." Enjoy $5 glasses of rose, $1 raw oysters, $2 char-grilled oysters, bacon-wrapped char-grilled oysters ($14 for four) and $5 slushies. From 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 1072 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Score Unique Art Works. Arts of Life, a nonprofit arts studio for adults with and without disabilities, hosts its annual Summer Sale and Block Party. Food, drinks, music, games, art and more are on tap, plus tons of unique art will be for sale. Free, from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, 2010 W. Carroll Ave. Also, the Flat Iron Building in Wicker Park opens its art studios to the public for a "First Friday" event. Suggested $10 donation, From 6 to 10 p.m., 1579 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Meet Pokemon Playing Pals Old Enough to Drink. A Pokeman Go Pub Crawl will stop at Emporium Arcade Bar, Pint, Fatpour Tap Works, the Boundary Tavern and Grille, the Fifty/50, Whiskey Business and Cheesies Pub & Grub. Participants can buy $15 wristbands for free entry to all participating bars and drink specials. From 5-9 p.m. Saturday, with an after party at Emporium Arcade Bar, 1336 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Shop at the Wicker Park Farmers Market: Score fresh veggies, meat, eggs, pastries, pasta, jam, bagels, honey, coffee from Ipsento, "agua frescas" from Dove's Luncheonette and crepes made on-site. See the full vendor list. The Wicker Park Farmers Market is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday through Oct. 30 in the park, 1425 N. Damen Ave.

Peruse Made-in-Chicago Wares. The "Made in Chicago Market" returns, packed with all things DIY—apparel, housewares and food and drink. Check out the maker map of participating vendors. Free admission, free parking. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Plumber's Union Hall, 1340 W. Washington St.

Go on a Garden Walk, Take Kids to a Petting Zoo. Tour over 70 private gardens and participate in a guided tree walk, along with a petting zoo and nature workshops at the Bucktown Tree and Garden Walk. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, gardens open at 11 a.m. The petting zoo is from 2 to 6 both days. Walk headquarters are in Churchill Park, 1825 N. Damen Ave.
