WEST LOOP — A developer will pitch plans to build 22 high-end luxury condos on Washington Boulevard in the West Loop at a meeting Tuesday.
River North-based Taris Real Estate plans to build a 10-story, 132-foot building at 900 W. Washington Blvd. The site, a block from Parlor Pizza Bar and other Fulton Market hot spots, now houses a one-story office building.
The developer will pitch plans to the community at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Merit School of Music, 38 S. Peoria St., the West Loop Community Organization announced.
With 20 condos and two penthouse suites, the condo plan calls for a mix of two- and four- bedroom units with 2½ to 4½ bathrooms. Under the plan, 24 parking spaces would also be developed on the ground floor.
The "very high-end luxury" units would be priced at more than $800-900 per square foot, according to Brandon Romo, Taris Real Estate marketing director, but prices have not been finalized. At $800 per square foot, the 1,600-square-foot two-bedroom units would cost more than $1.28 million, and 3,300-square-foot four-bedroom units would cost more than $2.64 million.
The developer is seeking a zoning change. Taris Real Estate owns the site and Chicago-based Northworks Architects is working on the project, Buck confirmed.
If all goes well, the project could be completed in December 2017. The development was first announced in summer 2015.
