RAVENSWOOD — Music lovers looking for something off the beaten Lollapalooza path should mosey up to Ravenswood Saturday for a gong and dance party.

Worlds of Music, a passion project started by employees of the shuttered Andy's Music Store, is celebrating its one-year anniversary at 4161 N. Damen Ave.

The festivities are set to kick off at noon and will feature a day of in-store performances, jam sessions, discounts on instruments and cake.

Husband-and-wife owners Suzanne Monk and Alexander Duvel opened Worlds of Music after Andy's closed in 2015.

Like Andy's, Worlds of Music carries instruments from far and wide — shop for an Indian sitar or Australian didgeridoos — and repairs them too. The store also hosts workshops and performances.
