2 Killed, 10 Wounded In Citywide Shootings Since Saturday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two men were killed and 10 other people were wounded in shootings around the city between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, police said.

One man, 25, was shot to death while sitting in a car in Roseland early Saturday afternoon.

The other, 20-year-old Jesus Martinez Jr., died hours after being shot in West Elsdon.

In non-fatal shootings:

• Most recently, at 5:20 a.m. Sunday morning, a man and a woman walked into a suburban hospital after being shot in West Town.

• At 4 a.m., someone followed a 27-year-old man to his home in the 8700 block of South Burley Avenue in South Chicago and shot at him through a closed door, according to a police incident report.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center after he was shot in his back, police said. Police could not immediately provide his condition.

• At 12:20 a.m., a 51-year-old man was shot with a BB gun on the Near West Side.

• At 10:20 p.m. Saturday night, a 33-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 5400 block of West Augusta Boulevard in Austin, police said.

He brought himself to West Suburban Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• At 7:15 p.m., a 22-year-old woman was shot in the 1100 block of East 45th Street in Kenwood, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman brought herself to University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was "stable" with a gunshot wound in her abdomen, Lemmon said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.

• At 4:20 p.m., a 24-year-old man was walking in the 600 block of East 71st Street in Park Manor when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his right foot, Lemmon said.

He was brought to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition, Lemmon said.

• Around 1 p.m., a 47-year-old man was shot in Pilsen.

• At 12:50 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham.

• At 6:45 a.m. Saturday morning, a 31-year-old man walked into Holy Cross Hospital after being shot in the 1500 block of West Garfield Boulevard in Back of the Yards, Lemmon said.

The man was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was "stable" with gunshot wounds in his foot and stomach.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
