WICKER PARK —  It'll be sticky this weekend, but that doesn't mean you need to stay home. Here are some cool things you can do in the 'hood:

Pop By Wicker Park Fest. Some 70,000 revelers are expected to flock to Milwaukee Avenue for the annual Wicker Park Fest this weekend. Watch 35 bands play on three stages and enjoy art performances, food, drinks and vendors. There is also a dedicated Kid's Fest in the Walgreen's parking lot at Wolcott/Milwaukee. Suggested donation is $10. Hours are noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; Kid's Fest ends at 6 p.m. both days. In the 1300, 1400 and 1500 blocks of North Milwaukee Avenue.

Weigh in on Neighborhood Safety. At a public meeting, Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd) will discuss his proposal to use $100,000 of taxpayer money on hiring private security to patrol the business district's main streets on late nights and weekends. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, St. Stan's School, in the cafeteria, 1255 N. Noble St.

Go On a Walking Tour of Bucktown. Though Friday night's "Bizarre Bucktown" walking tour has sold out, tickets are still available for two 90-minute long tours on Saturday, according to the company's website. Led by magician Gordon Meyer, the guided tour will focus on local lore, mysteries and ghosts. Tickets are $15, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., starts in Walsh Park, 1722 N. Ashland Ave.

Visit the Wicker Park Farmers Market: Score fresh veggies, meat, eggs, pastries, pasta, jam, bagels, honey, coffee from Ipsento, "agua frescas" from Dove's Luncheonette and crepes made on-site. See the full vendor list. The Wicker Park Farmers Market is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday through Oct. 30 in the park, 1425 N. Damen Ave.

Wind Down the Weekend with Shakespeare. Looking to escape the crowds from Wicker Park Fest?  Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks heads to the Garfield Park Conservatory, with a production of "Twelfth Night," a romantic comedy about mistaken identity and unlikely love. Free, 3 p.m. Sunday, 300 N. Central Park Ave.
