South Shore Shooting Kills Michael Griffin, 40, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 40-year-old man was shot dead in South Shore Monday night, according to police. 

Officers responding to calls of a car crash found the man lying in the street at 9:20 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Clyde Street, according to police.

He had been shot in the stomach and was brought to Stroger Hospital in critical condition before he was pronounced dead, police said.

The man has been identified as Michael Griffin, of south suburban Tinley Park, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one is in custody.
