Englewood Shootings Wound 2 Men, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two men have been wounded in Englewood shootings since Thursday afternoon, police said.

• Most recently, at 11:40 p.m., a 31-year-old man was standing on the street in the 6300 block of South Parnell Avenue when a black sedan pulled up and someone inside opened fire on the man, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in his stomach, leg and arm. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, Amezaga said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

• At 4 p.m., a 25-year-old man was in the 6500 block of South Claremont Avenue when several people walked out of a gangway and fired shots at him, Amezaga said. The man was hit in his left arm.

No further details were immediately available.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
