WICKER PARK — Beginning Monday, a high-intensity training gym run by two former personal trainers at fitness behemoth Bally's will celebrate its second location's grand opening week in Wicker Park.

Located at 1452 N. Milwaukee Ave., Training Revolution by Treads Gym replaced Re.Stock, a clothing boutique that moved to Lincoln Park. The new fitness option is just a few doors north of Shred 415, another high-intensity training gym, which opened in 2014.

Treads Gym is owned by Regina Gato and Trevor Rutkowski, who worked together at Bally's before co-founding Treads in 2012 at 477 W. Deming Place in Lincoln Park.

While the Lincoln Park gym, run by Rutkowski — an accomplished lifter and past winner of Chicago's Strongman competition — is more focused on personal training, Gato says the Wicker Park outpost is geared toward groups.

Gato said her classes are designed for all fitness levels and particularly for students who want variety in their workouts.

"You are never going to get the same workout twice. It should be something that you are excited to do," Gato said.

The 2,700-square-foot gym offers three types of classes focused on core muscles, strength and fat burning, according to its online schedule.

Hour-long group classes are $25; one-on-one personal training is $65 per session.

A free class is available to those who provide their email, according to Tread Gym's website.
