CHICAGO — Bike the Drive is turning 15 this weekend.

Lake Shore Drive will be shut down to cars and open only to cyclists from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Sunday for the 15th annual ride. The ride is round-trip 30 miles from Hollywood Avenue to 59th Street and bikers can ride as little or as much of the course as they'd like.

This year's turnout is expected to surpass last year's 20,000, organizers said in a release.

“It’s the one day of the year when people can ride on Lake Shore Drive car free and carefree,” said Active Trans Events and Marketing Director Clare McDermott.

Three participants will get a chance to meet Blackhawks goalie Scott Darling and take photographs with him in a special VIP area.

In addition, one lucky couple can win a .72 carat diamond white gold diamond engagement ring. Planning to pop the question at the ride? Go to mbbikethedrive.org to enter to win.

You can also register to take part in the drive at that site. It costs $53 online, and $64 on site on the day of the ride.

Cars will be able to access Museum Campus via 18th street and Navy Pier via Illinois Street.
