CHICAGO — A 49-year-old man was stabbed in a robbery attempt Downtown Sunday night, but you should see what happened to the other guy.

The 49-year-old was walking across the Washington Street bridge over the Chicago River in the West Loop at 11:30 p.m. Sunday when a man came up to him and announced a robbery, said Officer Bari Lemmon, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man argued with his would-be robber, who then stabbed the man multiple times in the abdomen, Lemmon said. Despite his wounds, the man was able to subdue his attacker and call for help, Lemmon said.

The man held down his attacker, with the help of onlookers, until police arrived, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

Police arrested the robber, and charges are pending, Lemmon said. The man was brought to Northwestern Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, she said.
