CHICAGO — One person died and four others were wounded in South Side shootings since Sunday morning, according to police.

A 20-year-old man was shot and killed in Greater Grand Crossing Sunday afternoon, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was walking when shots rang out from a passing SUV, Tannehill said. He was shot in his upper body and was taken to Stroger where he was pronounced dead, Tannehill said.

• Most recently, a 35-year-old man was shot in South Shore early Monday, said Officer Bari Lemmon, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was on a porch in the 7800 block of South Kingston Avenue at 2:35 a.m. when someone in a passing car opened fire, Lemmon said. He was hit in his left leg and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, Lemmon said.

• At 10:45 p.m. Sunday, a 24-year-old woman was shot in  West Englewood, Lemmon said.

The woman was in a parked car in the 6900 block of South Winchester Avenue when two men walked up and began firing, Lemmon said. She was struck in her right thigh and was driven to Holy Cross Hospital before being transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was not released but police said she was "stable."

• An 18-year-old man was wounded in a Chicago Lawn shootings Sunday night, Lemmon said.

The man was on the sidewalk in the 7100 block of South Washtenaw Avenue at 9:50 p.m. when someone in a car opened fire, Lemmon said. He was struck in his abdomen and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, she said.

• A 17-year-old was wounded in a Chicago Lawn shooting Sunday morning, Lemmon said.

The teen was in the 3000 block of West 59th Street at 10 a.m. when shots rang out, Lemmon said. He was hit in his left leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not released but police said the teen is "stable."
