Citywide Shootings Leave 2 Dead, 13 Wounded Friday Through Saturday, Police

CHICAGO— Citywide shootings have left two dead and another 13 wounded Friday through early Saturday, police said. 

In terms of fatal Saturday shootings of note:

At 3 a.m., a 35-year-old man was found in the back of a residence in the 7900 block of South Ellis Avenue, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman. 

At 12:20 a.m., a 30-year-old man was shot dead during an argument in the 5500 block of South State Street, Estrada said.  

In terms of fatal shootings on Friday of note:

At 4 p.m., a woman was shot dead and a man was injured just blocks from Chicago Police headquarters, police said.

In terms of non-fatal Saturday shootings:

At 6:53 a.m., a 33-year-old man was driving in the 900 block of North Homan Avenue when he was shot, Estrada said.  

At 1:55 a.m., a 24-year-old man was driving in the 2700 block of West North Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, Estrada said. 

At 12:35 a.m., a shooting in Belmont Cragin left a man wounded, Estrada said. 

At 12:35 a.m., a 23-year man was driving in the 4300 block of South State St. in Fuller Park when someone in a black SUV shot at him, Estrada said.

In terms of non-fatal shootings on Friday of note: 

At 9:38 a.m., a 38-year-old man was walking in the 9700 block of South Merrill Ave. in Jeffery Manor when he heard shots and felt pain, Estrada said.

At 7 a.m., a 33-year-old man was found shot in the leg in the 6200 Block of South Michigan Avenue in Woodlawn, Estrada said. The man told police he had been shot in the 8500 block of South Burley Ave. in South Chicago.

At 7:58 p.m., a 23-year-old man was standing in the 12300 block of South Wentworth Ave., when someone jumped out of the bushes and shot him, Estrada said. 

Four people were wounded in West Side shootings, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for the shootings, police said.
