Breakdancing Noble School Administrator Becomes Social Media Sensation

By Tanveer Ali | May 20, 2016 4:37pm

CHICAGO — This is what a breakdancing principal looks like.

Tyson Kane, founding principal of Chicago Bulls College Prep and now the head of schools for all 17 Noble Network charter schools, danced for students at the Noble Art Show last week at Rowe-Clark Math & Science Academy in West Humboldt Park.

"We teach our kids a lot to go do the things you love," Kane said Friday. "No fear, no embarrassment."

The dance — caught on video and shared 10,000 times on Facebook alone — impressed the crowd at the school, as evident in the video.

Kane said he has never watched himself dance, which he's done for his students during his days as a principal. He learned of the video after a few of his students emailed him this week.
