BRIDGEPORT — A South Side towing company that has drawn the attention of law enforcement and state regulators in recent years was raided again Thursday by Chicago Police.

As police officers gathered Thursday morning in front of Rendered Services, 3601 S. Iron St., an officer told DNAinfo that an investigation of the firm was taking place but would not elaborate.

Rendered Services also was raided by the police in 2014, and the company has been accused by motorists of moving cars into illegal parking spots in order to tow them.

According to the Tribune, Rendered Services has been cited 373 times by state regulators since its towing license was last renewed in August 2012. Two years ago, police seized computers, documents and vehicle keys from the company's Bridgeport office.

"Dave," an employee of Rendered Services who would not give his last name, told DNAinfo Thursday that he wasn't sure why the police were there and added "there's not much more I can say."

The Illinois Commerce Commission initiated an investigation of Rendered Services in March.

According to the ICC, Rendered Services has 135 pending citations against it, with allegations ranging from improper invoicing and signage of invoices to towing of properly parked vehicles and overcharging motorists.

Bob Gough, the ICC's public information officer, told DNAinfo that a hearing is scheduled for Rendered Services for June 17.
