SOUTH SHORE — Seven armed robberies reported in the South Shore neighborhood since May 4 may have all been perpetrated by the same group of young men, according to a community alert from police.

In every case, between one and four men ranging in age from 18 to 25 walks up to someone in the street and points a handgun at them, demanding their belongings.

The robberies were reported at the following times and locations:

• 3:40 a.m. on May 4 in the 1900 block of East 71st Street

• 1 a.m. on May 6 in the 2200 block of East 70th Place

• 4 p.m on May 7 in the 2200 block of East 70th Place

• 4 p.m. Friday in the 7100 block of South Ridgeland Avenue

• 12:12 a.m. Sunday in the 7100 block of South Constance Avenue

• 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of East 70th Street

• 2 a.m. Monday in the 7100 block of South Jeffrey Boulevard

The suspects have been spotted driving a white van, police said.
