WEST RIDGE — Officers found an 18-year-old man seriously hurt after he'd been shot in West Ridge Monday evening, police said.

Around 8:25 p.m., the man was discovered in the 6300 block of North Maplewood Avenue with a gunshot wound in his back, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Pacheco said, where he was listed in critical condition.

Police said the man is a documented gang member, and he was not cooperating with authorities.

No one is in custody, Pacheco said.
