WICKER PARK — This weekend's annual Wicker Park Garden Club Plant Sale will offer vegetables, herbs, flowering annuals, hanging baskets and a special "Plant and Grow" area for kids.
Proceeds from the sale, presented in partnership with the Chicago Park District, will go to the maintenance of volunteer-tended park gardens as well as the club's lecture series.
Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 1425 N. Damen Ave. If it rains, the sale will move inside the fieldhouse gym.
According to a news release, the sale will include "plants that perform well in Chicago" and each plant is personally hand-picked by the Wicker Park Garden Club members. David's Tea will be handing out samples for the first three hours of the sale each day.
Any volunteer who signs up online to work a three-hour shift will get a discount on their plant purchases.
