LOGAN SQUARE — Police are looking for two men they believe committed a pair of armed robberies in the Logan Square neighborhood in the past week, according to a community alert issued Thursday.

In each incident, the men walk up to someone on the sidewalk and point a gun at their head before taking their belongings and driving off in a small silver sedan, police said.

The first robbery was reported at 3:10 a.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of North Sawyer Avenue.

The second robbery occurred around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of North Sawyer Avenue.

Police described one of the suspected robbers as a black man in his 20s, standing between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-7 and weighing between 130 and 150 pounds. He has a "sandy-colored afro hairstyle" and was seen wearing a gray vest and black pants, or a black ski cap and black shirt.

The second suspect, police said, is a black man of unknown age standing around 5-foot-10 and weighing about 200 pounds. He has black hair and was seen wearing a "loosely-worn" blue button-up shirt.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call detectives at 312-744-8263.
