NORTH CENTER — In the words of the immortal Purple One: "We are gathered here today 2 get through this thing called life."

Just months after joyous carolers met to celebrate "Merry Princemas," fans of his Royal Badness will converge again on North Center's Town Square, this time to mourn the sudden loss of the music icon.

Organizers of December's Princemas sing-along are planning a hastily arranged candlelight vigil Thursday night in honor of Prince Rogers Nelson, who died of unknown causes at age 57.

All are welcome to join the memorial, 7:30 p.m., at Damen and Belle Plaine avenues.

Bring a candle. Wear purple.
