CHICAGO — A murderer out on parole is now charged with killing a woman and leaving her body in suitcase in a Roseland alley two days after Christmas.
Arthur Cain, 53, is charged with first-degree murder in the Dec. 27 slaying, police said late Tuesday.
He was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the Cook County Jail and Courthouse complex. He had previously been charged with concealing a homicide in connection to the same case and ordered held on $1 million bond.
The Tribune identified the victim as Dominique Shavonne Ferguson, 21.
Police said her body was found in the alley behind the 300 block of West 115th Street on Dec. 27. She died from asphyxia.
Cain was out on parole at the time of the killing. He was sentenced to 70 years in prison for a 1980 murder. He was also sentenced to 45 years for armed robbery in that same case, police said.
