CHICAGO — Chicago is the second-most expensive place to get married in the United States, according to the results of a newly released study.

On average, couples spend $61,265 to say "I do" in the city, according to wedding website The Knot. The only place that beats us out is Manhattan, where couples are paying an average of $82,299 for a wedding.

Reporter Kelly Bauer will not be paying over $60,000 for her wedding.

Where can you head for cheaper nuptials? Head downstate to central Illinois and it'll cost just $21,818 to get married on average, which The Knot has said is the most affordable option in the state.

If you're really trying to save money, Alaska is the most affordable option in the United States with an average wedding cost of just $17,361.
