BRIDGEPORT — One of the neighborhood's most active education advocates welcomes parents to attend a presentation Friday on what they can do to help fix the state’s school problems.

From 10 a.m.-noon at the Richard J. Daley Library, Jennie Biggs, a Bridgeport parent and board member of Raise Your Hand, plans to pass out the phone numbers of elected officials to parents.

"Our elected officials don't hear from our public school parents enough," she said.

Biggs will also open a discussion on possible short- and long-term funding solutions for schools.

"What's at stake is the future of our education system," Biggs said.
